Thunderbolt 5 PCB design
Completed in March 2025
We began work on our Thunderbolt 5 PCB in November 2024, embarking on one of the most complex engineering challenges in the entire Lon:HUB Ultra project. Achieving full Apple and Intel certification is a rigorous, multi-stage process – and we’re proud to say we’ve successfully completed it.
For Lon:HUB Ultra, we’ve pioneered our new Bifrost PCB architecture. This design physically separates the ultra-high-speed Thunderbolt 5 signal paths from the still-blazing-fast, but lower-bandwidth, connections such as USB-A, Ethernet and HDMIs. This separation unlocks far greater flexibility in layout, optimises signal integrity, and streamlines production. The result? A breakthrough in efficiency and performance — delivering uncompromising quality at a more accessible price point for an ultra-premium product.
Industrial design
Completed in May 2025
With the central element design – our Thunderbolt 5 PCB – complete, we embarked on a full reimagining of the casing. Building on the invaluable experience gained from our first two products, we’ve engineered a completely new bi-material construction that achieves exceptional precision, flawless tolerances, and a distinctly elevated aesthetic.
This new design eliminates all visible bolts, creating a seamless, sculpted exterior that feels as premium as it looks. The result is a product that not only surpasses our previous designs, but sets an entirely new benchmark for refinement, durability, and visual impact in the docking station category.
Thunderbolt 5 PCB production
Completed in July 2025
All Thunderbolt components are already produced and delivered.
Bifrost PCB design
Completed in October 2025
While the Bifrost architecture delivers countless advantages, it is an entirely new solution, so it demands significant research, engineering, and testing. Its development could only begin once the Thunderbolt 5 core was fully finalised, and since then we’ve been working hard.
Where are we now?

Certification
Expected to be completed in December 2025
We’re preparing Lon:HUB Ultra for full UL certification to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. While certification is never simple, our experience from the previous two products gives us a clear advantage. From day one, Lon:HUB Ultra has been engineered to meet UL requirements, making this stage smoother, faster, and more straightforward than ever before.
